Shaping the Future of Mekong Regional Architecture: Reinforcing Transboundary Water Governance Through Reciprocity
Mekong sub-regional architecture is becoming more complex, reflecting increased geopolitical attention and expanding cooperation between Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, their neighbors and partners. Thirteen Mekong-related intergovernmental cooperation frameworks have been established since 1957.
Chulalongkorn University has been participating actively in sub-regional dialogues. This is a track 1.5 Mekong Policy Dialogue on evolving sub-regional architecture and the role of Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS), co-organized by Chulalongkorn University Center for Social Development Studies, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade-Australia (DFAT), and The Asia Foundation (TAF). The organizations collaborated to produce a policy brief for the future of Mekong regional architecture.

Chula Asian Research Center for Migration’s Reports
Asian Research Center for Migration, Chulalongkorn University collaborating with International Organization for Migration (IOM), conducted this research and completed a publication in 2019. This aimed to contribute towards the Governments of Thailand and Cambodia in their efforts to develop transparent and rights-based migration policies and programs which maximize positive contributions of migration to the economies and societies of both countries.
