Taking Down Inter-institutional Walls: Chula-KMITL-CMKL Offer Double-Degree Program
Chulalongkorn University and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang University joined forces to offer Thailand’s first double-degree program on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering, and the two universities will also partner with CMKL University to develop a curriculum for Electrical & Computer Engineering at CMKL.
Prof. Suphan Tangjitkusonman, President of CMKL University said that CMKL, operated by KMITL and Carnegie Mellon University, a world-class institution, has seen its Electronical and Computer Engineering graduates strive in robotics, data science, cybersecurity, and many other related fields. They are among those who play an important role in powering the country towards Thailand 4.0.
The cooperative arrangement will draw the already possessed specialist knowledge from the institutions to efficiently accelerate the reality of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering. Credits earned in the participated universities will be transferable and most classes will be in a practical project-based format that better prepares students for their future careers.
Prof. Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, President of KMITL University stated that the collaboration is a response to a national demand for high-tech engineering talents as well as an opportunity to exchange know-how and resources between the otherwise divided institutions.
