Chulalongkorn University places strong emphasis on promoting energy efficiency and clean energy awareness among the public and local communities. Through a variety of community outreach and educational programmes, the University integrates academic knowledge and innovation to raise public understanding of sustainable energy consumption, energy conservation, and carbon reduction practices. These initiatives are conducted by faculties and research institutes across the University to inspire behavioral change and support Thailand’s transition toward a low-carbon and sustainable society.
“Green Mission by Chula x GULF: Beware Your Step—Towards a Zero-Footprint Future”
The Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited and Chulalongkorn University Broadcasting Station (under the Office of Academic Resources), launched the project “Green Mission by Chula x GULF: Beware Your Step—Towards a Zero-Footprint Future” in October 2024.
The initiative invited students and schools to participate in educational and innovation-driven activities focused on clean energy, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction. Through training sessions, competitions, and prototype development, participants learned to design sustainable solutions and apply energy-conscious thinking in daily life.
This programme not only raised awareness of clean energy among young people but also encouraged knowledge transfer to families and surrounding communities, thereby extending the impact of the project beyond the classroom. The initiative demonstrates Chulalongkorn University’s active role in empowering the next generation to lead Thailand’s clean energy transition.

Workshop “The Power Jungle Boardgame: Pathway to Sustainable Energy”
The Energy Research Institute (ERI), Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Prince of Songkla University, the Climate Action and Sustainable Environment (CASE) project under the International Climate Initiative (IKI), and FOUND BY DESIGN Co., Ltd., organized a training workshop titled “The Power Jungle Boardgame: Pathway to Sustainable Energy” from 26 to 28 September 2025 at the Faculty of Engineering, Prince of Songkla University, Songkhla Province.
The workshop aimed to utilize educational board games as innovative tools for communicating and teaching concepts related to clean energy and energy conservation. It was designed for teachers, librarians, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) educators, energy activity facilitators, and interested members of the public in Songkhla and nearby areas. Participants learned about the principles of sustainable energy, techniques for using games to foster engagement, and methods for designing energy-related learning activities for youth and communities.
Upon completion, participants received a certificate of achievement from the Energy Research Institute, Chulalongkorn University, along with a Thai-language “Power Jungle Board Game” learning set, enabling them to continue expanding energy education in their schools and communities. The programme, offered free of charge, serves as an outstanding example of how Chulalongkorn University promotes teachers and community members to become leaders in clean energy literacy and sustainability education.
