Chulalongkorn University Libraries: Academic Resource Hubs for Lifelong Learning Accessible to Everyone

The Office of Academic Resources, Chulalongkorn University (Central Library)

The Office of Academic Resources, widely known as the Central Library of Chulalongkorn University, serves as a comprehensive hub for knowledge and academic resources. It provides public access to libraries, books, publications, digital media, rare collections, academic journals, textbooks, research papers, and magazines, as well as facilities such as multimedia studios. These services support teaching, learning, research, and curiosity-driven exploration for students, faculty members, staff, and—most importantly—the general public.

In line with the principle of lifelong learning, the Central Library allows everyone, including external visitors who are not members of the university, to freely enter, explore resources, borrow books, and make use of facilities such as meeting rooms, co-working spaces, computers, and other essential learning equipment. All of these services are provided with automatic free access to the public.

For those unable to visit in person, Chulalongkorn University also offers access to the Chulalongkorn University Intellectual Repository (CUIR), an online system where theses and research publications can be searched and downloaded in full text at no cost. Beyond the Central Library, the university operates more than 20 faculty and departmental libraries [ https://www.car.chula.ac.th/chulalinet4.php ], all of which are open to the public free of charge. Each library houses general resources such as journals, magazines, and books, while also offering specialized collections tailored to their academic disciplines.
