Chulalongkorn University asserts Good Health for All

The Chulalongkorn University Sports Center, the office of Physical Resources Management, has offered sports centers and athletic-skills activities free of charge to university students, personnel, and the general public.

“Chulalongkorn University is not only an educational institution but also a contributor for people to attain good health,” said Asst Prof Dr. Suchart Taweepornpathomgul. Faced with a lack of exercise spaces, we also developed several green areas that act as a lung to produce fresh air compatible with outdoor fitness activities, including a variety of sports stadiums. Furthermore, residents and the general public can use sports services and facilities following the policy of the university that promotes people’s health. Asst Prof Dr. Suchart Taweepornpathomgul ensures that facilities are internationally standardized, that they provide a high level of hygiene and fair services, whether they are associated with Chulalongkorn University or not. The list of amenities can be found below.

Chulalongkorn University Stadium is a large outdoor standard stadium fitted with artificial turf which first capable of passing the FIFA standard in Thailand. It also has 8 running tracks with a synthetic rubber surface certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), an amphitheater with seats from 20,000 to 25,000 spectators, standard stadium lights, and other well-equipped facilities.

CU Sports Complex is a 5-story building consists of a badminton court, 50-meter swimming pool, large fitness center, combat sports arena, multi-purpose stadium designed to be conveniently used by various types of sports events and sports competitions.

Outdoor fitness areas which are located at 4 points: next to Chulalongkorn Stadium, Park@Siam, the Faculty of Sports Science, and the Mahittalathibet Building. 

Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park is a public park in the city center for all family members, especially the elderly. The beautifully landscaped area is green and shady, with space for jogging and exercise. Open daily from 5 AM to 10 PM.

Park@Siam, a green area next to the Chulalongkorn Book Center in Siam Square, is accessible for anyone to walk, run, or relax. Fitness equipment is also offered inside the park. Open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Also, Chulalongkorn University provides sport training programs such as swimming, tennis, badminton, basketball, taekwondo, yoga, ballroom dancing, football, Muay Thai, and gymnastics. For instance, ZUMBA Fitness DANCE ON THE FLOOR takes place in the courtyard in front of the CU Sports Complex. Zumba is the most popular workout on campus because of its energetic pace and lively rhythm, and variety of dance moves to make it not boring and long-lasting. Zumba lessons are held every day from Monday through Friday from 5.10 PM to 6.10 PM

Last but not least, “Healthy and Happy with Yoga program” offers classes every Tuesday and Friday from 5.15 PM to 6.15 PM in the aerobics studio on the 2nd floor. The public is also welcome.
