In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining both physical and mental health is essential for everyone, particularly within an academic environment. Recognizing this importance, Chulalongkorn University, one of Thailand’s leading higher education institutions, has implemented a comprehensive system of health services that ensures accessible care and psychological support for all students and staff, completely free of charge.
The university is deeply committed to nurturing the overall wellbeing of the Chula community, providing both preventive and curative services through medical clinics, psychological counselling, health promotion programs, and innovative digital solutions such as the Dmind application.
Comprehensive Physical Health Services
The Chulalongkorn University Health Service Center provides full-scale medical care and physical health services for students, faculty, and staff — all at no cost.
Services include general medical consultations and treatments, specialized medical services, annual health check-ups, vaccinations, and basic dental care. This ensures that members of the university community can access timely and high-quality healthcare, including in emergency situations.
In addition to medical services, the Health Service Center actively promotes preventive healthcare and health literacy, offering educational programs on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle habits, and behavioral wellness.
To make healthcare more accessible, the center’s General Medicine Clinic operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (official working days), reducing overcrowding and waiting time for all members of the Chula community.
Supporting Mental Health and Psychological Wellness
Understanding that mental wellbeing is just as vital as physical health, Chulalongkorn University provides a wide range of mental health support services for both students and staff.
The Center for Psychological Wellness, operated by the Faculty of Psychology, offers individual counselling and psychotherapy conducted by professional psychologists. The center also organizes mental health promotion activities, helping participants build awareness and resilience in dealing with stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges.
Its programs emphasize long-term mental health skills, such as mindfulness training, behavioral adjustment, and emotional resilience — promoting sustained wellbeing beyond temporary stress relief.
The Center for Psychological Wellness collaborates closely with the Chulalongkorn University Health Service Center, ensuring that faculty and staff can access counselling services at no cost.
The center is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (except public holidays), and provides both onsite consultations and online sessions via Zoom, making mental health support flexible and accessible.
To strengthen student wellbeing, Chulalongkorn University established the Chula Student Wellness (CUSW) — under the Office of Student Affairs — as a central hub for mental health and psychological support.
CUSW offers comprehensive services encompassing mental health promotion, prevention, intervention, and recovery, all designed to enhance the holistic wellbeing of students — body, mind, social connection, and intellect.
All services are provided free of charge, led by a team of experienced psychologists and psychiatrists who provide individual counselling, workshops, and training programs that promote mental strength, emotional regulation, and self-development.
CUSW also offers a relaxation and reading space for students to unwind, work, and recharge in a supportive atmosphere. [ https://chula.wellness.in.th/ ]

As part of its commitment to inclusive and innovative mental health support, Chulalongkorn University has developed the Dmind application, a digital platform that enables students, staff, and the wider public to access mental health resources anytime, anywhere.
The app offers online counselling, mental health activities, and curated educational content, helping users manage stress and emotional wellbeing in a convenient and private way.
Through Dmind, users can connect directly with mental health professionals, overcoming barriers of time and location. This initiative represents the university’s forward-thinking approach to digital mental health accessibility and the active promotion of good mental health for all members of society. Beyond its internal community, Chulalongkorn University also collaborates with public and private sectors to organize outreach programs, community activities, and research-driven innovations that promote mental wellness and resilience in society at large.
These efforts reflect the university’s vision not only to care for its students and staff, but also to serve as a model institution for promoting good mental health in the wider community. Example:
