Clean, Safe, and Free Drinking Water Stations Across Chulalongkorn University for Everyone

Currently, Chulalongkorn University provides over 130 free drinking water stations throughout the campus, offering clean and safe drinking water for students, staff, and visitors, as well as the general public who visit or use university services. These free drinking water stations, such as drinking water fountains, are maintained regularly to ensure hygiene and safety standards. Some of these stations are installed by the university itself, while others are part of collaborative projects, like the #BringYourOwn campaign in partnership with Yves Rocher. This initiative aims to increase the number of free drinking water stations on campus [ https://www.chula.ac.th/news/116295/ ] , with specialized companies ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of the systems, including replacing filters every three months. Moreover, environmental engineers from the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University inspect water quality every six months to ensure efficient operation.

More importantly, Chulalongkorn University provides a Google Map showing the locations of the free drinking water stations. So, if you ever find yourself thirsty and unsure if there’s a water station nearby, simply check the map for the exact location and head to the nearest one!

Although drinking water might seem like a simple, everyday act, it has a significant impact. From just seven water stations, in one month alone, we collectively helped reduce waste by 232,151 pieces. This waste reduction includes not only PET water bottles but also caps, seals, and plastic labels—small items that accompany bottled water. This means we could potentially be reducing plastic waste by millions of pieces!

To help further reduce plastic waste this year, don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle and make the most of the free drinking water fountains around Chulalongkorn University. Not only will you help save the planet by cutting down on waste, but you’ll also enjoy unlimited drinking water and save money from not buying bottled water!
